KOMPAS.TV - Presiden Prabowo Subianto meminta Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup untuk melakukan audit lingkungan dan mitigasi dampak lingkungan dari tambang nikel di Raja Ampat yang kembali beroperasi.Menteri Lingkungan Hidup, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, menjelaskan Presiden Prabowo meminta audit dampak kerusakan lingkungan jangka panjang akibat aktivitas penambangan di Raja Ampat.
Pemerintah mengatur batasan-batasan untuk PT GAG Nikel yang kembali beroperasi di Raja Ampat, Papua Barat Daya, agar tidak menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan di kemudian hari.
Pemerintah mengatur perusahaan tambang tersebut membangun banyak tahapan kolam pengendapan agar saat terjadi hujan yang membawa air larian bukaan tambang, tidak langsung jatuh ke badan sungai. Selain itu, pemerintah mengatur agar perusahaan tersebut emisi yang dihasilkannya bisa terus dikontrol.
