Mereka berasal dari sejumlah daerah penyangga Jakarta seperti Karawang,Bekasi, Bogor, Depok, hingga Tangerang.
Dalam aksi unjuk rasa ini, para buruh membawa enam poin tuntutan yaitu pengapusan outsourcing dan tolak upah murah (HOSTUM) serta naikkan upah minimum 2026 sebesar 8,5 persen hingga 10,5 persen.
Kemudian stop PHK, reformasi pajak perburuhan, sahkan rancangan undang-undang ketenagakerjaan tanpa omnibuslaw, sahkan RUU Perampasan Aset, dan Revisi RUU Pemilu.
Presiden Konfederasi Serikat Pekerja Indonesia (KSPI) Said Iqbal dalam keterangannya pada Rabu (27/8) mengatakan gerakan ini diberi nama HOSTUM.
Aksi ini disebut Said sebagai momentum untuk menyampaikan aspirasi dan tuntutan agar pemerintah berpihak pada kepentingan pekerja.
Said memastikan aksi unjuk rasa dilakukan secara damai.
Selain di Jakarta, aksi demo juga dilakukan para buruh di sejumlah daerah seperti Semarang, Surabaya, Medan, Banda Aceh, Bandar Lampung hingga Makassar.
Terkait aksi demo di Jakarta, Polda Metro Jaya mengerahkan 4531 personel gabungan untuk pengamanan.
Kabid Humas Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Ade Ary Syam Indradi menjelaskan ribuan personel terdiri atas 2.174 personel Polda Metro Jaya, 1.725 personel Bawah Kendali Operasi (BKO) yang melibatkan unsur TNI AD, Marinir, Brimob Mabes, Den C, Kodim Jakarta, Kogas Sabhara, Satpol PP, dan Dishub, serta 632 personel Polres jajaran.
Demi kelancaran aksi, polisi juga menyiapkan skenario rekayasa arus lalu lintas yang bersifat situasional.
Pengalihan arus lalu lintas dilakukan apabila massa buruh sudah sampai memakan badan jalan.
Sementara itu, Wakil Ketua DPR RI Sufmi Dasco Ahmad mengaku telah mengetahui ada aksi unjuk rasa para buruh pada Kamis hari ini.
Dasco mengatakan, aksi demo ini untuk menyikapi putusan Mahkamah Konstitusi (MK) terkait revisi UU soal buruh.
Menurut Dasco, pada dasarnya, DPR RI menaati keputusan MK tersebut, namun pihaknya memerlukan waktu untuk menyiapkan revisi undang-undang.
Adapun Ketua Fraksi Partai Golkar DPR RI yang juga Sekjen Golkar, Sarmuji mengingatkan para buruh agar menjaga ketertiban selama proses demo.
Sarmuji berujar, penyampaian aspirasi akan lebih mudah diterima jika dilakukan dengan cara yang baik.
Dikatakan oleh Sarmuji, jika aksi demo tersebut merusak fasilitas umum maka hanya akan merugikan masyarakat luas.
