La Cancillería uruguaya anuncia el inicio del proceso de eliminación de visa para ciudadanos chinos
El 4 de junio, la Cancillería uruguaya anunció que iniciará el proceso para permitir el ingreso sin visa de ciudadanos chinos al país, dando así un paso histórico en las relaciones entre Uruguay y China. Según el anuncio, la medida busca impulsar especialmente el crecimiento del turismo y fortalecer los lazos bilaterales entre ambos países.La medida llega por indicación directa del presidente uruguayo, Yamandú Orsi, y responde, en carácter de reciprocidad, a la decisión adoptada por China a comienzos de 2025, cuando habilitó el ingreso sin visa para los ciudadanos uruguayos portadores de pasaportes ordinarios. El impacto de la medida se proyecta, fundamentalmente, en el sector turístico, ya que China es el país con mayor cantidad de turistas internacionales en el mundo y su presencia en América Latina viene creciendo de forma sostenida.
