On one side, HCLTech's Q4 FY26 results missed estimates and the FY27 guidance of just 1–4% constant currency growth shocked the Street — wiping out ₹70,000 Cr+ in market cap across the IT sector in a single session. HCLTech fell 10% (worst day in 11 years), dragging Infosys (-4%), TCS (-2%), and Coforge (-4.2%) down with it. The Nifty IT index is now down 25% YTD in 2026.
On the other side, Trump extended the Iran ceasefire — but kept the U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports fully active. Iran's Foreign Minister called it an "act of war." Crude oil (WTI) is holding near $89–90, Brent at $93–95. The Strait of Hormuz remains effectively closed. And the IEA is warning that Europe has just 6 weeks of jet fuel left.
