Kapuspen TNI Mayor Jenderal TNI Kristomei Sianturi mengatakan, Enos tewas dalam operasi militer di Kampung Baitapa, Distrik Baitapa, Kabipaten Intan Jaya, Papua pada Sabtu (5/7/2025).
Enos tewas di lokasi dengan luka tembak.
Sementara tak ada korban dari pihak TNI maupun masyarakat sipil.
"Operasi ini dilakukan secara terukur, berdasarkan informasi dari masyarakat yang akurat," kata Kristomei, dalam keterangan resminya, Minggu (6/7/2025).
Kristomei menjelaskan, Enos adalah pelaku rangkaian aksi kekerasan.
Mulai dari aksi brutal penembakan warga sipil, baik petani, kuli bangunan, maupun tokoh agama setempat.
Bahkan kelompok yang dipimpin Enos juga kerap tanpa ragu membunuh masyarakat asli Papua yang mendukung kehadiran pemerintah.
"Tindakan ini merupakan bentuk kehadiran negara untuk melindungi rakyat Papua dari aksi kekerasan kelompok separatis bersenjata yang kerap menebar teror terhadap masyarakat sipil,” ujar Kristomei.
Kelompok yang dipimpin Enos juga membakar rumah warga, honai adat, puskesmas, dan sekolah.
Mereka juga menyandera pekerja proyek dan warga serta menjadikannya sebagai tameng hidup.
Kelompok ini juga disebut melancarkan serangan mendadak ke pos TNI/Polri dengan melibatkan anak kecil dan remaja.
Kemudian menyebarkan video dari setiap aksi yang dilakukan sebagai bentuk propaganda anti-pemerintah.
