Una adolescente cae más de 3.000 metros desde un avión que se está desintegrando y despierta completamente sola en mitad del Amazonas. Parece imposible, pero sobrevivir a la caída solo fue el comienzo de su pesadilla.El 24 de diciembre de 1971, Juliane Koepcke viajaba junto a su madre en el vuelo 508 de LANSA cuando el avión entró en una tormenta brutal y terminó partiéndose en pleno vuelo. Con apenas 17 años, Juliane cayó todavía atada a una fila de asientos y aterrizó entre los árboles de la selva peruana.
Herida, sin gafas, con una sola sandalia y prácticamente sin comida, tuvo que seguir un pequeño arroyo con la esperanza de encontrar civilización. Durante 11 días avanzó entre barro, insectos, animales y una infección cada vez más peligrosa, mientras los equipos de rescate eran incapaces de localizar los restos del avión.
