Für ihn werden hundeerfahrene Interessenten gesucht, die sich die Zeit nehmen, Smokys Zutrauen zu erlangen. Auf Spaziergängen entdeckt er begeistert seine Umgebung. Aufgrund seines eingeschränkten Erfahrungsschatzes wird Smoky nicht in eine Familie mit Kindern vermittelt.
