“La basura y la miseria en Cuba no empezaron ayer”: Otaola responde a la agencia EFE
El influencer y activista cubanoamericano Alex Otaola, presidente de la Fundación Cubana Anticomunista, reaccionó a reportes internacionales que atribuyen la actual crisis en Cuba —incluyendo apagones, acumulación de basura y escasez de combustible— a medidas recientes relacionadas con el petróleo. Otaola rechazó esa interpretación y aseguró que la situación viene deteriorándose desde hace décadas.El activista recordó que la acumulación de desechos, los apagones prolongados y la falta de servicios básicos han sido denunciados durante años, mucho antes de cualquier ajuste reciente en política energética. Según su análisis, responsabilizar exclusivamente a decisiones externas omite el historial de problemas estructurales de la Isla.
Otaola también cuestionó la cobertura de algunos medios extranjeros que, a su juicio, presentan la crisis como un fenómeno reciente y no como el resultado de un colapso acumulado en el tiempo. Señaló que el descenso económico y la migración masiva reflejan un deterioro sostenido.
El mensaje central del influencer es que el debate no debe centrarse únicamente en factores coyunturales, sino en las causas estructurales que han marcado la situación económica y social del país durante décadas.
