Profile selection: A 3x3 profile was used for the main chassis. At first, I was between a 2x4 and a belly tube, but in the end, I chose a 3x3, which I felt was more suitable for this weight. ✅ Buying from a junkyard (paper): We went for stock parts. Instead of the Honda shock absorber, which was too soft, there was a shock absorber known as "Russian", which could easily withstand about 500 kg of weight and was perfect for our work. ✅ Cutting and welding the chassis: We cut the profiles according to the plans I had drawn on the laptop. Of course, with the challenge of the profiles we had, because the branches were 6 meters long and we had a lot of overhang! ✅ Suspension system design: I used door hinges and trailing arms to create an independent suspension system (separate left and right). This way, the trailer operates much smoother on bumps. ✅ 206 Trailer Challenge: In the last video, we went to the back of the 206 to see where we could attach this trailer. Ready-made trailers on the market were very expensive (about 8 million!), so we are thinking about a custom design that can be attached to the chassis or spare tire.Why did I lower the height? Many people have asked why the trailer is so close to the ground? There are two reasons: one is to lower the center of gravity for better use in corners and prevent overturning, and secondly, to make the four-wheel drive easier and eliminate the need for a lifting ramp.
This project is still ongoing and in the next part I will go over the rims, tires, wiring the lights and the final road test!
