Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has landed in China's Tianjin for his historic visit to the country. He is scheduled to attend the annual SCO Summit on August 31 and September 1. He is expected to hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping amid US President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs. Earlier in the day, PM Modi was in Sendai with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. The duo arrived in the city on a bullet train and visited a semiconductor plant. PM Modi gifted Ishiba a ramen bowl with chopsticks and a pashmina shawl to his wife, Yoshika Ishiba. The Japanese PM also hosted the Indian PM for lunch. PM Modi met the governors of 16 Japanese prefectures in Tokyo. On August 29, PM Modi and Ishiba held bilateral talks. India and Japan have signed multiple agreements in various fields and have vowed to strengthen security and defence cooperation.---
