Festival transmitido en China de generación en generación en honor a Qu Yuan
Con una historia de más de 2.000 años en China, la Fiesta del Bote del Dragón rinde homenaje a Qu Yuan, un poeta patriótico del Período de los Estados Combatientes, que se extendió del 475 al 221 antes de nuestra era. Cuando el Estado que amaba cayó y ya no pudo ser salvado, Qu Yuan se arrojó al río Miluo el quinto día del quinto mes del calendario chino lunar. Los habitantes locales lanzaron al agua bolas de arroz glutinoso, conocidas como zongzi, para alimentar a los peces, y celebraron carreras de botes del dragón para ahuyentarlos y evitar que su cuerpo fuera perturbado. Hoy en día, el pueblo chino continúa honrando su sacrificio y celebrando los valores de lealtad y comunidad. Esta tradición se ha transmitido de generación en generación, ha cruzado fronteras y lleva el respeto de China por esta figura histórica a todo el mundo.
