Nell'incidente – avvenuto intorno alle 3.50 del mattino, ora locale – il velivolo si è scontrato con un'auto della sicurezza, provocando la morte delle due persone a bordo. Quattro membri dell'equipaggio sono stati invece tratti in salvo. La pista nord dell'aeroporto di Hong Kong, uno dei più trafficati dell'Asia, dove l'aereo è uscito di pista, è stata chiusa.
