Il dialogo, atteso come occasione di chiarimento dopo la recente desecretazione di documenti d'archivio, si è trasformato in un duro scontro terminato con l'uscita di scena dell'ex premier.
Amato: "Bisogna opporsi all'archiviazione, ma restano troppi dubbi"
Amato ha rivendicato di non aver mai presentato l'ipotesi del missile francese come una propria certezza, ma come la ricostruzione ritenuta più credibile in un contesto segnato fin dall'inizio da elementi di ambiguità. L'ex presidente del Consiglio ha detto di "invidiare" la sicurezza con cui Giovanardi sostiene la tesi della bomba palestinese a bordo, sottolineando che i tempi e le circostanze del suo eventuale collocamento non sarebbero mai stati chiariti del tutto. Sul piano giudiziario, ha ridimensionato il valore della sentenza civile che riconobbe la responsabilità dello Stato per la mancata sicurezza dei cieli, respingendo l'idea che essa dipendesse solo dalla costituzione tardiva dell'Avvocatura di Stato. Amato si è detto comunque contrario a una nuova archiviazione dell'inchiesta.
