TOD VON "TIMMY": Backhaus packt aus! Tracker-Daten ausgewertet | Die Wahrheit über den Buckelwal?

Nach dem Tod des in der Ostsee gestrandeten Buckelwals verteidigt Mecklenburg-Vorpommerns Umweltminister Till Backhaus (SPD) die umstrittene Rettungsaktion. Neue Daten des angebrachten Senders zeigen, dass das Tier nach seiner Freilassung in der Nordsee nur noch wenige Tage lebte. Backhaus betont dennoch, die Bergung sei richtig gewesen, da es sich um ein lebendes Tier gehandelt habe und die Hoffnung bestanden habe, es in sein angestammtes Lebensumfeld zurückzubringen. Die Auswertung der Bewegungsdaten zeigt, dass der Wal nach der Freilassung noch mehr als 200 Kilometer zurücklegte. Die genaue Todesursache wird weiter untersucht.
