Исследователи выяснили, что их химический состав не совпадает с известным австралазийским полем тектидов, что говорит о том, что эти куски произошли от совершенно другого столкновения. Стекло было создано, когда астероид врезался в Землю с такой силой, что поверхностные породы расплавились, выбросились в атмосферу и обратно вернулись на землю в виде стеклянных капель.
