Pelaku bernama Alvi Maulana yang tak lain orang yang menjalin asmara dengan korban berinisial TAS.
Penangkapan terhadap Alvi dilakukan seusai identitas korban diketahui pada Sabtu (6/9) malam.
Polisi kemudian melakukan penyelidikan dan mendapat informasi bahwa pelaku berada di sebuah kos di Surabaya barat.
Warga Labuhanbatu, Sumatera Utara itu ternyata tinggal bersama korban TAS sejak April lalu.
Kepada pemilik kos, Alvi mengaku sudah menikah siri dengan TAS.
Kasat Reskrim Polres Mojokerto AKP Fauzy Pratama mengatakan, berdasarkan keterangan Alvi, dirinya berpacaran selama lima tahun dengan TAS sejak berkuliah di Madura.
Adapun korban sendiri diketahui berasal dari Lamongan, Jawa Timur.
Sementara itu, ketua RT setempat, Hari menuturkan, Alvi ditangkap polisi pada Minggu (7/9) sekira pukul 01.00 WIB.
Menurut Hari, saat ditangkap, Alvi tak melakukan perlawanan bahkan terlihat santai.
Polisi sendiri tampak membawa satu kantong plastik hitam seusai penangkapan di kamar kos tersebut.
Dikatakan oleh Hari bahwa pihaknya belum dapat memastikan pelaku dan korban pasangan kekasih atau sudah menikah.
Pasalnya, selama keduanya tinggal di wilayah tersebut, ia tak pernah menerima identitas resmi baik dari pelaku ataupun pemilik kos.
Sehari-hari, Alvi dikenal sebagai sosok tertutup dan bekerja sebagai driver ojek online (ojol).
