Yunita meninggal setelah berjuang keras melawan kanker payudara yang telah lama ia derita.
Semasa berkarir sebagai penyanyi, Yunita dikenal sebagai sosok yang konsisten dan penuh transformasi dalam perjalanan musiknya.
Sebelum dikenal sebagai penyanyi dangdut, ternyata Yunita telah lebih dahulu menapak karir sebagai penyanyi pop.
Ia diketahui sudah aktif di dunia pop songs sejak tahun 1979, dengan nama panggung Juju N.
Bersama maestro musik A. Riyanto, Yunita telah merilis sebanyak 12 album pop sepanjang tahun 1980-an.
Sepanjang perjalanan karirnya, Yunita sempat dikenal dengan nama Yuyun Nabiela dan Yunita Irani.
Namun transformasi besar dalam karirnya terjadi pada pertengahan 1990-an, saat ia memutuskan banting setir masuk ke genre dangdut dengan nama panggung Yunita Ababiel.
Nama ini kemudia resmi ia gunakan dalam album berjudul "Pertengkaran" tahun 1997.
Kemudian karirnya melejit lewat album "Trauma" tahun 1999, yang mana lagu utama dari album ini menjadi hit besar dan melekat di hati para penikmat musik dangdut Indonesia.
Dengan karier yang membentang lebih dari empat dekade tersebut, ia kemudian dikenal sebagai penyanyi multitalenta.
