Ruggeri, che prima di dedicarsi alla musica ha insegnato italiano e latino alle scuole medie, ha spiegato la questione richiamando la struttura narrativa del brano: Quello che le donne non dicono racconta di una donna delusa da un amore che non è più all'altezza degli inizi. La frase "e ti diremo ancora un altro sì", ha chiarito l'artista, è una condizione implicita — se l'uomo tornerà quello di un tempo, riceverà ancora un consenso. Sostituire il "sì" con un "no", ha osservato, "non ha senso con la canzone" e configura, a suo dire, un vero e proprio errore grammaticale più che una scelta interpretativa.
