Es wirkt wie ein Urlaubstrip. Scheinbar gut gelaunte Menschen grinsen in die Kamera und rufen einen Namen. Sie sitzen in einem Boot und filmen sich selbst. Doch sie sind nicht im Urlaub. Sie befinden sich irgendwo zwischen Nordafrika und Europa auf dem offenen Meer. Und der Name, den sie rufen, ist der Name ihres Schleusers. Mit solchen Videos werben Schleuser für ihr Geschäft mit der Hoffnung. Sie machen Millionen mit dem Versprechen einer sicheren Überfahrt – und schicken viele Menschen nicht nach Europa, sondern in den Tod.
