Negara tersebut langsung menghapus bukti lantaran halaman terkait program itu mendadak hilang dari situs resmi pemerintah.
Melalui situs resmi pemerintah menjelaskan bagaimana program F-35 Joint Strike Fighter mengubah industri pertahanan Australia.
Dalam halaman itu dilengkapi dengan grafik interaktif yang menampilkan suku cadangan buatan lokal.
Tertera dengan detail sistem kendali penerbangan hingga komponen mesin jet F-35.
Dilaporkan, lebih dari 70 perusahaan Australia diduga terlibat dalam proyek bernilai lebih dari 4 milir dollar Australia atau setara Rp 43 triliun.
Namun sejak akhir 2023, seluruh informasi itu menghilang.
Departemen Pertahanan setempat pun tidak memberikan jawaban ketika ditanya penyebab hilangnya informasi tersebut.
Staf Kementerian Pertahanan sebenarnya telah mendapat persetujuan untuk memperbarui konten situs tersebut pada 23 November 2023 dengan data dan grafik baru.
Hal itu diketahui berdasarkan dokumen internal yang diperoleh Partai Hijau melalui permintaan Freedom of Information.
Namun halaman itu tak pernah diperbarui, bahkan kini hanya menampilkan pesan “404 error”.
Menteri Luar Negeri Penny Wong menegaskan bahwa Australia hanya membuat bagian “non-mematikan” dan tidak memasok langsung ke Israel.
Namun David Shoebridge, juru bicara Partai Hijau untuk urusan Pertahanan dan Luar Negeri, menyebut pernyataan itu menyesatkan.
Pihaknya menuduh pemerintah Anthony Albanese menghilangkan bukti keterlibatan Australia.
