Flydubai Terror Pilot Prayed, Then Attacked: One Move Still Foiled Deadly Plan | Firstpost Live
A chilling new chapter has emerged in the flydubai cockpit attack. According to Israeli media reports, investigators are examining allegations that Omani co-pilot Hamam Al-Hammami had a much larger plan — one that allegedly involved taking control of the aircraft and crashing it at Ben Gurion Airport after securing landing clearance. The revelations come days after flydubai flight FZ-1073, travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv, descended sharply after an alleged attack on Indian captain Smit Machchhar inside the cockpit. Despite suffering serious injuries, Machchhar managed to fight back and open the cockpit door. Passengers, crew and two reserve pilots then intervened, eventually bringing the aircraft to safety in Saudi Arabia. Reports suggest Al-Hammami may have considered carrying out the operation months earlier and had flown to Ben Gurion several times. Investigators are also examining his reported online activity and asking how potential security concerns were missed.
