In less than two years, John Hozik of @Disciplined_dads built a Facebook page to nearly 2 million followers.

The craziest part?

He had no social media background, no huge personal brand, no industry connections, and no secret “inside” advantage.

John was a CPA, husband, and dad who started Discipline Dads as a passion project because he wanted to become a better, more present father. What started as a simple mission to celebrate good dads turned into a massive online movement across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

But his story took a brutal turn.

Shortly after his daughter was born, John’s social media accounts were hacked. He lost the pages, the followers, and the momentum he had spent over a year building. Most people would’ve quit.

John didn’t.

He started again and rebuilt the audience back to nearly 2 million followers on Facebook.

In this interview, John shares exactly how he grew Discipline Dads, why his mission mattered more than the algorithm, how often he posted, what helped him recover after getting hacked, why Meta Verified became so important, and what new creators need to understand about Facebook growth and monetization.

If you think Facebook is dead, or that it’s too late to grow a page, John’s story will challenge that belief.

Because this wasn’t luck.

It was consistency, mission, and the willingness to keep feeding the algorithm even when nobody was watching.
