5 or 6 days ago In my last Hunter video I talked about the verity and combination blow grapple Hunter. I said I didn't like Building a 3 stack of combination blow and a 5 stack of verity brow after that. Then making sure I'm going in and out of invisibility at proper times and landing a 1 2 punch. I also didn't want to have to use navigator or have to get to 200 grenade stat while maintaining 70 in melee and class cause you basically need tier 4 or 5 armor for that.
After reading through all your comments I took it upon myself to build my own version. I wanted to make it feel more enjoyable and smooth to play, I wanted to grapple way more because its such a fun ability, I wanted to bring in things that would help my teammates survive in harder content like strand clones and amplified for everyone. but I also didn't want to give up that powerful damage and survivability.
Well I think if you guys watch the gameplay and try this build out for yourself. You will have a new favorite Hunter Build. I think it's that good!
The gameplay loop is simple but very addictive.
You use your Ascension to start out, which is a small jump and hit your class ability. This leaves a Strand clone in the air that every enemy targets. This provides crowd control. You made yourself amplified for 15% damage reduction as well. But what's even better is you made your teammates amplified and that clone benefits them too, taking aggro away from then.
Once ascended you choose your target and grapple to them for a strong punch thanks to our exotic and stats. Then head to the first enemy you see and hit them with combination blow. Every melee kill through grapple or combination blow makes a orb of power too, which heals you and gives woven mail for 45% damage reduction.
Then repeat. You'll have your class ability back and grapple and can just chain these 3 moves over and over. Just look at it in minus 20 content here against these brigs.
