Vince il CDU di Merz col 28,6% di voti, che però per formare un governo di maggioranza dovrà avviare i colloqui con SPD di Scholz per creare la "grande coalizione". Questo perché le forze politiche del Paese si sono ripromesse di ostacolare a tutti i costi #AfD, il partito guidato da Alice Weidel euro-scettico, filo-Israele, contro l'immigrazione incontrollata e contro il green europeo. AfD si è posizionato al secondo posto col 20,8% circa dei voti (+10,4% rispetto al voto del 2021). AfD avrà a disposizione nel Bundestag 152 seggi, pur rimanendo, a meno di clamorosi sconvolgimenti, all'opposizione.
Per Paolo Becchi l'occasione per diventare il primo partito in Germania potrebbe già essere stata l'ultima. Ma a una condizione, per esempio: che il CDU mantenga le promesse elettorali sul rigido controllo dell'immigrazione clandestina, tema delicatissimo nel Paese.
