Schimpansen und Kristalle: Studie zeigt rätselhafte Faszination wie bei Urmenschen

Eine Studie spanischer Wissenschaftler sorgt für Aufsehen: Schimpansen zeigen eine auffällige Faszination für Kristalle – ähnlich wie frühe Menschen. In Experimenten legten Forscher große Quarzkristalle neben gewöhnliche Steine in ein Gehege. Das Ergebnis: Die Tiere widmeten den Kristallen deutlich mehr Aufmerksamkeit und trugen sie sogar tagelang mit sich herum. Offenbar zieht die besondere Form der Kristalle die Tiere an. Schon bei Homo-Funden tauchen Kristalle immer wieder auf. Die Entdeckung wirft neue Fragen zur Entwicklung von Ästhetik und Bewusstsein auf.
