So you're a sophomore, what now? | Briana Wheeler | TEDxMurfreesboro

Professional athletes, musicians, and 15-year-olds all share one fear: the sophomore slump. High school English teacher Brianna Wheeler draws on three years of teaching sophomores to reveal why they are the most socially lonely and institutionally invisible group in school, and how understanding that invisibility, along with a powerful framework for categorizing knowledge, can help any of us navigate the disorienting experience of round two. Briana Wheeler teaches English at Webb School of Knoxville, where she serves as Chair of the Creative Writing Program and guides students through the creative process. A 2020 Sewanee graduate and Tennessee Williams Creative Writing Award winner, Briana continues to approach life through art, helping others discover the power of storytelling and creative expression.
