Köye dönüş: Öğrencisi olduğu okula öğretmen oldu
Şanlıurfa'nın Hilvan ilçesine bağlı Yenidoğan köyündeki tek katlı küçük bir okulda bugün yalnızca 10 öğrenci eğitim görüyor.Birinci sınıftan dördüncü sınıfa kadar farklı yaşlardaki öğrenciler aynı dersliği paylaşıyor.
Okulun öğretmeni Hasan Basri Manap da yaklaşık 20 yıl önce aynı sıralarda öğrenci olarak oturuyordu.
Manap, kendi köyünde öğretmen olmanın önemli avantajları olduğunu ancak beraberinde büyük bir sorumluluk da getirdiğini söylüyor.
Ders anlatmanın yanı sıra, okulun ihtiyaçlarından öğrencilerin sorunlarına kadar birçok konuda sorumluluk üstlenen öğretmen, velilerle kurduğu ilişki sayesinde okulun imkanlarını geliştirmeye çalışıyor.
Manap'ın ilkokula başladığı 2006’da yaklaşık 60 öğrencinin bulunduğu okulda, şehre göçlerin de etkisiyle bugün yalnızca 10 öğrenci var.
