La OTAN reafirma su apoyo militar a Ucrania y condena al Gobierno chino por respaldar a Rusia

El presidente de Estados Unidos, Joe Biden, se reunirá este jueves con el presidente de Ucrania, Volodymyr Zelensky, en la última jornada de la cumbre de la OTAN, un cónclave de tres días de duración que se está llevando a cabo en Washington D.C. Los países miembros de la OTAN declararon formalmente el miércoles que Ucrania está en un camino “irreversible” hacia la adhesión a la OTAN, pero solo después de que la guerra con Rusia haya concluido.

El secretario de Estado de Estados Unidos, Antony Blinken, también anunció que aviones de combate F-16 de fabricación estadounidense serán enviados a Ucrania: “Me complace anunciar que, mientras hablamos, aviones F-16 están siendo transferidos [a Ucrania] desde Dinamarca y los Países Bajos. Y esos aviones volarán en los cielos de Ucrania este verano para asegurarse de que pueda seguir defendiéndose de manera eficaz contra la agresión rusa”.

El miércoles, la OTAN también acusó a China por primera vez de ser un “facilitador decisivo” de la guerra de Rusia contra Ucrania. La alianza militar instó a China a “cesar todo apoyo material y político al esfuerzo bélico de Rusia”. Por su parte, China criticó duramente la declaración de la OTAN.
