Pitru Tarpanam 🙏 Sacred Mantras for Ancestors | Pitru Blessings, Peace, Gratitude & Purification
🙏 **Pitru Tarpanam | पितृ तर्पणम्**A sacred offering of remembrance, gratitude and reverence to our ancestors.
This devotional recitation brings together traditional purification prayers, invocations to Lord Vishnu and Lord Ganesha, the sacred names of Lord Vishnu, and mantras associated with purification and Pitru Tarpanam.
Pitru Tarpanam is traditionally performed with **श्रद्धा — sincerity, faith and remembrance** — as an expression of gratitude toward one's ancestors and lineage.
Listen to these sacred mantras during your prayer, meditation or ancestral remembrance to create an atmosphere of:
🙏 **Pitru Smaran** — remembrance of ancestors
🪔 **Gratitude and reverence** toward one's lineage
🌿 **Spiritual purification** before sacred offerings
🙏 **Prayer for Pitru Kripa and blessings**
🕉️ **Inner peace and devotional reflection**
🌺 **Connection with Sanatana Dharma traditions**
The recitation begins with the sacred purification prayer:
**अपवित्रः पवित्रो वा सर्वावस्थां गतोऽपि वा ।
यः स्मरेत् पुण्डरीकाक्षं स बाह्याभ्यन्तरः शुचिः ॥**
It is followed by prayers to Lord Vishnu and Lord Ganesha for purity and the removal of obstacles, before invoking the sacred names of Vishnu:
**ॐ केशवाय स्वाहा ।
ॐ नारायणाय स्वाहा ।
ॐ माधवाय स्वाहा ।
ॐ गोविन्दाय नमः ।**
The practice then moves deeper into the sacred mantras associated with purification and ancestral offerings.
May this recitation become a quiet moment to remember those who came before us, honour their contribution to our lives and offer our gratitude with humility.
**May our ancestors be remembered with love.
May our prayers reach them with श्रद्धा.
May their blessings guide the generations that follow.**
ॐ पितृभ्यो नमः 🙏
ॐ नमो नारायणाय 🪷
For the best devotional experience, listen in a peaceful space with your attention gently focused on prayer and remembrance.
