Compleanno in Pakistan per Reinhold Messner. L’alpinista, che compie 82 anni, ha scelto di trascorrere questi giorni in compagnia della moglie Diane Schumacher su quelle montagne che riportano subito alla mente grandi imprese e altrettanto grandi lutti. Nei post pubblicati sui social, si vede Messner salire in vetta a una roccia per ammirare da lontano il Nanga Parbat, lo stesso punto dove era passato oltre cinquant'anni fa col fratello Günther: «Oggi mi sono arrampicato di nuovo lassù. Certo, non proprio come una capra di montagna come facevo allora, ma ce l’ho fatta lo stesso. Ogni volta che passo da queste parti, non posso fare a meno di fermarmi. Troppe cose sono iniziate qui. Il Nanga Parbat è diventato per me molto più di una semplice montagna» è la didascalia che accompagna il video della scalata. In un altro post, Reinhold risponde agli auguri con un messaggio dei suoi: «D’ora in poi, voglio festeggiare ogni compleanno. Non perché i compleanni in sé siano così importanti per me, ma perché so che il tempo diventa più prezioso man mano che diminuisce. Sono semplicemente un alpinista che invecchia, ma che è ancora curioso, porta ancora con sé dei sogni ed è ancora assetato di avventura.
