Kiew: Natalia rettete Löwen und Tiger vor Putins Bomben | BILD-Lagezentrum VOR ORT
Nicht nur Millionen Menschen sind vor Putins Krieg gegen die Ukraine geflohen. Auch Tausende Tiere aus Zoos, Wildparks und privaten Sammlungen im Süden und Osten des Landes hat Russland in die Flucht getrieben. Vor allem für die wildesten unter ihnen gibt es kaum einen sicheren Ort.Darum hat es sich Natalia Popowa mit ihrer kleinen NGO „Wild Animal Rescue Center“ zum Ziel gesetzt, durch Putins Bomben verjagte Tiere zu retten, aufzupäppeln und – wenn möglich – an Zoos und Tiergärten außerhalb der Ukraine zu evakuieren. BILD hat Natalia und ihre Tiere außerhalb von Kiew besucht. Ihre Fluchtgeschichten sind herzzerreißend.
Natalias Mini-Organisation – es gibt außer ihr noch zwei weitere Tierpfleger – ist auf Spenden angewiesen. Entweder von Privatpersonen oder Tierschutzorganisationen.
„Zu Kriegsbeginn hatte ich 100 Reitpferde. Jetzt habe ich noch 20. Die anderen habe ich verkauft, um Futter, Medizin und Strom für die Heizung im Winter zu bezahlen.“ Natalia mit erstickter Stimme: „Wenn ich die letzten 20 Pferde verkauft habe, habe ich nichts mehr. Keine Möglichkeit, Geld zu verdienen, und keine Möglichkeit mehr, die Löwen und Tiger zu versorgen.“
