Un piccolo drone italiano a propulsione solare ha battuto un record mondiale rimanendo in volo per oltre 24 ore senza atterrare. Il “Guardian XL”, sviluppato da Vector Robotics, azienda aerospaziale specializzata nella progettazione e produzione di droni innovativi con sede a Mogliano Veneto (Treviso), ha stabilito un nuovo primato nella categoria dei velivoli ad ala fissa sotto i 3 metri di apertura alare.
Il drone ha percorso oltre 900 chilometri sorvolando le campagne trevigiane per 24 ore e 5 minuti. Al momento dell’atterraggio aveva comunque ancora il 50% della batteria e avrebbe potuto proseguire la propria missione. «Il nostro obiettivo era sfondare il muro delle 24 ore di volo con un drone elettrico, andare oltre sarebbe stata una perdita di tempo», spiega soddisfatto Andrea Beggio, amministratore delegato e fondatore dell’azienda nel 2020.
