“Non mi risulta che alcun rapporto diretto con il presunto regista Francis Kaufmann sia stato intrattenuto dalla Direzione generale competente. Sulla specifica vicenda ci sono indagini in corso da parte della Magistratura, sia contabile che penale, alla quale stiamo fornendo la massima collaborazione, come dimostra il fatto che ho personalmente accompagnato il personale della Polizia Giudiziaria nella sede della Direzione generale cinema accertandomi della trasmissione dei documenti richiesti. Nessun film fantasma potrà più approfittare delle risorse pubbliche. Basta sprechi: i soldi dei contribuenti devono andare solo a chi fa davvero cinema". Lo ha detto il Ministro della Cultura, Alessandro Giuli, durante il Question time in Aula alla Camera.
