De UEFA Nations League is een internationale voetbalcompetitie die om de twee jaar wordt gespeeld tussen de 55 lidstaten van de UEFA.
De Nations League werd in het seizoen 2018/19 voor het eerst georganiseerd en biedt een aantal Europese landen een extra kans om zich te kwalificeren voor het eerstvolgende eindtoernooi, in dit geval het EK 2028 in het Verenigd Koninkrijk en Ierland. In de vorige editie wist Portugal in de finale Spanje na strafschoppen te verslaan. Daarmee werd het als eerste land tweevoudig winnaar van de Nations League.
Voor Nederland zijn dit de eerste interlands onder de nieuwe bondscoach Xavi Hernández. Oranje is ingedeeld in groep A2 met Duitsland, Servië en Griekenland. Bij Duitsland is Jürgen Klopp de nieuwe bondscoach.
Ook voor de neutrale voetballiefhebber valt er genoeg te genieten. Zo zijn Frankrijk, Italië, België en Turkije ingedeeld in groep A1. In groep A3 nemen Spanje, Kroatië, Engeland en Tsjechië het tegen elkaar op. Groep A4 bestaat uit titelverdediger Portugal, Denemarken, Noorwegen en Wales. Genoeg prachtige affiches dus! Wie gaat dit jaar de Nations League winnen?
