Sumpah ini muncul setelah Houthi meluncurkan rudal hipersonik bernama "Palestina" untuk pertama kalinya.
Dalam pidatonya pada Kamis (6/6/2024), Al Houthi menyebut kapal induk yang diserang pekan lalu adalah USS Dwight D.Eisenhower.
Serangan itu diklaim menimbulkan kerusakan hingga memaksa kapal menjauh dari posisi awal di Laut Merah.
Al Houthi menegaskan, kapal induk yang sama akan tetap menjadi target pada serangan berikutnya.
"Kapal induk Amerika Eisenhower akan tetap menjadi target Angkatan Bersenjata kami kapan pun ada kesempatan," kata Al Houthi, dikutip dari Sputnik, Sabtu (8/6/2024).
Sementara itu, Komando Pusat AS (CENTOM) membantah kapal induk Eisenhower mengalami kerusakan.
CENTCOM menegaskan bahwa serangan Houthi terhadap kapal induknya tidak pernah berhasil.
Adapun serangan ini merupakan balasan atas tewasnya 16 orang di Yaman akibat serangan AS-Inggris pekan lalu.
Meski wilayah kekuasaannya dibombardir, Houthi masih terus berupaya menciptakan senjata-senjata canggih.
Pekan ini, sebuah rudal hipersonik bernama "Palestina" diluncurkan ke Kota Eilat Israel menargetkan fasilitas militer.
Meski tidak ada laporan korban atau kerusakan, munculnya senjata ini menandai bahwa Houthi masih kuat.
