Die 15-Prozent-Zölle auf europäische Autos bedeuteten massive Belastungen für Mittelstand und Industrie, während Trump fast alle Forderungen durchgesetzt habe. Aiwanger wirft der EU-Politik wirtschaftliche Selbstschwächung vor und fordert Verhandlungen über faire Rahmenbedingungen, niedrigere Energiepreise und strategische Kooperationen mit den USA etwa bei Wasserstoff. Das Fazit: „Europa hat zu ideologisch, nicht wirtschaftlich gehandelt.“
