IIT prof's tips: Watch this if you have have just completed B.Tech 1st year
The end of B.Tech 1st year is a crucial time to think seriously about what career trajectory to take and to start working on it. In this video, I discuss 4 important tips which students just finishing 1st year should keep in mind:1. Improving their CGPA - this is true irrespective of whether they wish to go into core or non-core profiles. This is especially important if students are interested in higher studies.
2. Beyond CGPA - While a high CGPA is necessary, it is not sufficient. Students need to start developing specialized knowledge and skills based on their chosen career trajectory.
3. Developing communication skills - again this is something which is extremely important to develop irrespective of their career trajectory.
4. Building friendships - many students stay cocooneed in their shells in their 1st year. So, at least after 1st year, they should be proactive and start building friendships. Even two-three friends can go a long way towards improving the overall quality of every aspect of their life.
