Mannheim-Rheinau: Am frühen Montagmorgen, gegen 5:30 Uhr, geriet im Mannheimer Hafen-Rheinau ein rund 250 Quadratmeter großer Schrotthaufen in Brand. Die Feuerwehr löschte das Feuer und lagerte den brennenden Schrott gemeinsam mit dem Betreiber per Bagger um, um Glutnester gezielt bekämpfen zu können.Ein Messfahrzeug der Feuerwehr überprüfte die Luftqualität im Nahbereich – es gab keine Hinweise auf eine Gefahr für die Bevölkerung. Die vorsorglich ausgelöste Warnung über die Apps Katwarn und Nina wurde wieder aufgehoben.
Die Ursache: Vermutlich ein beschädigter Akku, der sich im Schrott entzündete. Gegen 8:45 Uhr war der Brand gelöscht. Verletzt wurde niemand. Es entstand kein Sachschaden, da nur nicht verwertbares Material betroffen war. Receive SMS online on sms24.me
