DEUTSCHLAND: 130 Milliarden Euro Haushaltsloch: Droht die Mehrwertsteuer von 21 %?Im Bundeshaushalt klafft ab 2027 voraussichtlich eine Lücke von 130 Milliarden Euro. Während die SPD Einsparungen im Sozialetat ablehnt und die Union Steuererhöhungen für hohe Einkommen oder große Vermögen ausschließt, rückt eine andere Option in den Fokus: eine höhere Mehrwertsteuer. DIW-Präsident Marcel Fratzscher hält eine Anhebung auf 21 % für wahrscheinlich. Das würde laut Berechnungen rund 30 Milliarden Euro pro Jahr bringen. Politisch sei das der einfachere Weg, sozial jedoch problematisch, da niedrige Einkommen überproportional belastet würden.
