NEVADA: Flammenwand rast auf Reno zu – 90.000 Menschen evakuiert
Waldbrand in Nevada: Feuerwalze 50 Kilometer vor RenoLodernde Flammen und eine gefährliche Feuerwalze in Nevada: Nur rund 50 Kilometer von Reno entfernt kämpfen Feuerwehrleute gegen einen gewaltigen Waldbrand. Wechselnde Winde treiben die Flammen weiter. Rund 90.000 Menschen wurden nach den vorliegenden Angaben aufgefordert, ihre Häuser zu verlassen oder sich auf eine mögliche Evakuierung vorzubereiten. Das Feuer breitete sich rasend schnell auf etwa 6.000 Hektar aus. Rund 800 Einsatzkräfte kämpfen gegen die Flammen. Sechs Menschen, darunter drei Feuerwehrleute, wurden verletzt. Die Ursache soll menschliches Handeln sein.
