CROSSWIND LANDINGS during a STORM at AMSTERDAM - BOEING 747 Go Around, A380, A330 & more (4K)
Crosswind Landings during a storm at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. The first Boeing 747-8F of Korean Cargo didn` t make and due to a wind shear alert the pilots initiated a go around. The crew had to deal with 90° crosswinds up to 40knots that day and the B747 didn` t even return for the second landing. They chose runway 24 for the second approach which is normally only used for departures. The second B747-400 of Silk way had a bit easier conditions and they landed the Queen of the Skies perfectly.Also note the Airbus A330 Freighter of Air China Cargo which also had some issues with the crosswinds. They managed to land the plane during the first attempt and swirled up lots of water due to a heavy rainshower a few minutes earlier.
