KRIEG IN NAHOST: Donald Trump verkündet Vereinbarung zur „vollständigen“ Entwaffnung der HamasDie Hamas soll im Gazastreifen vollständig entwaffnet werden. Der von US-Präsident Donald Trump initiierte Friedensrat habe dazu eine Vereinbarung erzielt. Das teilte Trump auf seiner Plattform Truth Social mit. Im Gegenzug sollen sich die israelischen Streitkräfte aus dem Gazastreifen zurückziehen.
Die Umsetzung soll in den kommenden Wochen beginnen. Für die vollständige Entwaffnung ist ein Zeitraum von 200 bis 250 Tagen vorgesehen.
Offen bleibt jedoch die Reihenfolge der Schritte. Ein Hamasoffizieller erklärte bei Al Jazeera, die Organisation werde ihre Entwaffnung vorantreiben, sollte sich Israel aus dem Gazastreifen zurückziehen. Sobald die israelischen Streitkräfte abgezogen seien, werde die Hamas ihre Waffen niederlegen.
Die von Trump beschriebene Vereinbarung sieht dagegen zunächst die Waffenabgabe vor. Anschließend soll sich die israelische Armee schrittweise zurückziehen. Damit bleibt unklar, ob alle Beteiligten die Vereinbarung gleich verstehen. Die Hamas hatte eine Entwaffnung bisher abgelehnt.
WELT-Korrespondentin Alina Quast verweist auf diesen offenen Knackpunkt. Ob die Vereinbarung in dieser Form abgestimmt ist und umgesetzt werden kann, bleibt abzuwarten.
