Le previsioni di Goldman Sachs cui fa riferimento stimano un crollo della produzione petrolifera globale fino a 17 milioni di barili al giorno al culmine della crisi, una cifra che rende evidente la scala del problema. Secondo la banca d'affari americana, il prezzo del greggio non tornerà ai livelli pre-conflitto — circa 60 dollari al barile — e, nell'ipotesi più ottimistica, si stabilizzerebbe intorno agli 80 dollari.
