Wenxin addresses why she still creates hand-drawn art in an AI-dominated age. She traces her artistic journey, from a random childhood drawing to rediscovering creativity via Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and a praised campus art piece. She explores color as an emotional language, her club’s color-based diversity activity, and emphasizes human creativity and emotion are irreplaceable by AI—art is about expressing one’s true self. Melody is very interested in the art of visual storytelling, creativity, and the role of humanities in the age of AI. Through calligraphy, painting, and design, she explores how color and art can express identity and emotion. Melody is of the opinion that creativity is not the antithesis of technology, but is a vital force for us to retain the humanity in a quickly changing world.
