Dass die AfD die CDU bei der Landtagswahl in Sachsen-Anhalt deklassieren würde – das hatten alle Meinungsforschungsinstitute vermutet. Aber dass der Abstand zwischen beiden Parteien dann so groß ausgefallen ist, damit hatte keiner gerechnet, erst recht nicht die CDU selbst. Entsprechend zerknirscht und ratlos zeigte sich Bundeskanzler Merz am Tag danach. Ist der Wahlausgang ein Menetekel für die gesamte CDU? Wird die AfD die neue Volkspartei? So deutet es zumindest AfD-Chefin Alice Weidel. Sie prophezeit, dass die CDU keine einzige Wahl mehr gewinnen werde.Fakt ist: Die aktuellen Wahlumfragen zur Landtagswahl in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern sehen die CDU nur knapp über der 5 Prozent-Hürde. Sollte sich das bewahrheiten, wäre das das bundesweit schlechteste Wahlergebnis für die Partei bei einer Landtagswahl in der gesamten Geschichte der Bundesrepublik. In Berlin steht es Spitz auf Knopf, ob die CDU das Rote Rathaus behalten kann oder an die Linke abgeben muss. Warum verliert die Partei kontinuierlich an Zuspruch?
