Delhi Blast LIVE | Key Suspect in Red Fort Blast: Owner of Hyundai i20, Pulwama's Dr Umar Mohammad
A massive explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort killed at least nine people and injured several others. The blast occurred near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort metro station, involving a Hyundai i20 car whose owner has been detained. Officials said the car was moving slowly at a red light when it suddenly exploded. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the situation. Home Minister Amit Shah visited the site and met victims at the hospital. Shah said all possibilities are being investigated, with samples sent to forensic and bomb experts. Delhi Police have filed an FIR, while states including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, Maharashtra, Chandigarh, and Kerala have been placed on high alert. Security has been tightened at airports, metros, and government buildings, and the NIA, NSG, and FSL are inspecting the site. Messages of condolence and concern have poured in from around the world.Born in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama on 24 February 1989, Umar Mohammad, believed to be driving the car that exploded, was a doctor at the Al Falah Medical College in Faridabad.
