Pembahasannya seputar kerja sama antarkedua pihak, khususnya perjanjian perdagangan bebas yang sudah dirundingkan 10 tahun lamanya.
Dalam pertemuan, Uni Eropa juga memberi kemudahan bagi warga Indonesia yang berkunjung ke kawasan Uni Eropa untuk kedua kalinya mendapat visa Schengen multi-entry.
Schengen merupakan 29 negara Eropa yang menghapus kebijakan paspor dan semua jenis kontrol perbatasan antarnegara.
Kesepakatan ini disambut baik oleh Uni Eropa dan Indonesia yang memandang masing-masing sebagai mitra strategis.
