Vertreter aus aller Welt treffen sich in der Türkei zum UN-Klimagipfel (COP31). Vor dem Hintergrund zunehmender Wetterextreme beraten die Teilnehmer zwei Wochen lang unter anderem über den Ausstieg aus fossilen Brennstoffen und den Stopp der Entwaldung. Die Türkei will vor allem einen schnelleren Ausbau der erneuerbaren Energien: Bis 2035 soll der Anteil von Strom an der weltweiten Energieversorgung auf 35 Prozent steigen. Zur Zeit sind es 23 Prozent. Ein Reizthema dürfte die Finanzierung von Klimaschutzmaßnahmen sein. Viele Entwicklungs- und Schwellenländer fordern mehr Hilfe zur Bewältigung der Klimafolgen.
