Notre habitation peut-elle garantir notre bonheur? Alors que certains passent une vie entière dans la maison de leur enfance, d’autres déménagent sans cesse en quête du logement idéal. Ville ou campagne, habitation individuelle ou collective: en matière d’espace, nous n’avons pas tous les mêmes besoins. Dans l’ouest de Berlin, Matthias savoure la vue que lui offre son petit appartement niché dans une "machine à habiter", un bâtiment préfabriqué construit par l’architecte franco-suisse Le Corbusier dans les années 1950. Patricia, quant à elle, a délaissé la ville pour les grandes étendues de verdure: menant désormais une vie de bergère, elle aime passer les mois d’hiver dans une petite cabane de chantier, au milieu de nulle part.
