Setelah dipecat, isi khotbah Hasyim yang menyinggung sifat kebinatangan manusia menjadi viral.
Khotbah itu disampaikan di depan Presiden Jokowi saat salat Idul Adha di Semarang, Jawa Tengah pada 17 Juni 2024 lalu.
Menurut Hasyim, banyak sifat binatang yang ada dalam diri manusia, seperti mementingkan diri sendiri, sombong, menganggap dirinya paling benar, hingga rakus.
Ia pun mengajak para jemaah untuk mengindari sifat-sifat semacam itu karena akan membawa keretakan dalam kehidupan.
"Sifat-sifat kebinatangan dalam manusia harus disembelih," kata Hasyim dalam khotbahnya, Senin (17/6/2024).
Khotbah yang disampaikan Hasyim itu kembali viral setelah Dewan Kehormatan Penyelenggara Pemilu (DKPP) memecat ketua KPU tersebut.
Hasyim dipecat setelah terbukti melakukan tindak asusila terhadap anggota Panitia Pemilihan Luar Negeri (PPLN) Den Haag, Belanda.
Dalam sidang pada Rabu (3/6/2024), DKPP mengungkap bahwa Hasyim memaksa korban untuk berhubungan badan.
Meski sudah ditolak, ketua KPU terus memaksa hingga akhirnya terjadi hubungan terlarang itu.
